Tswalu The Motse

Tswalu Kahalahi is one of National Geographic’s ‘Unique Lodges of the World’, and for good reason! South Africa’s largest private game reserve, Tswalu’s vast grasslands and rolling hills are home to rare and extraordinary creatures such as roan and sable antelope, packs of wild dog, black maned Kalahari lions, aardvark, pangolin and two colonies of habituated meerkats.

Just 10 safari vehicles have access to Tswalu reserve, allowing for true privacy – an exhilarating feeling! Go on guided game drives, spend a morning with the meerkats, track desert black rhino or set out on a horseback safari. Other highlights include boma feasts and dune picnics, the red Kalahari sunsets and the option of a night under the stars at the Malori Sleep Out Deck.

Tswalu Motse has just 9 casually elegant suites, each featuring an open fireplace and a private sundeck positioned to make the most of those expansive desert views. Three of the suites have been designed with families in mind and have 2 en-suite bedrooms, a central living room and shady terrace. At the main lodge, you’ll find an outdoor heated infinity pool, Sanctuary Spa and a walk-in wine cellar stocked with fine South African wine.

Tswalu is featured in our pick of the 1o Most Luxurious Safari Lodges in Africa.
