What began as luxury safaris across Southern and East Africa grew into island escapes, grand hotels, faraway cities around the world, conferences overlooking skylines, incentive trips with candlelit celebrations, and journeys to the frozen wonders of Antarctica.

We are a bridge connecting people to the most extraordinary places on Earth, from tracking wildlife on an African safari to exploring historic destinations around the world, hosting seamless MICE events, and designing corporate incentive experiences. Every great adventure begins before sunrise, and ours started in 2001 when Sean Kritzinger and Murray Gardiner founded GILTEDGE in South Africa. Armed with a deep love for Africa and a vision for custom-crafted travel, they set out to share the continent they loved with the world. Here are their stories of how it all began.

Sooner or later, every explorer finds that the map feels too small. From South Africa we headed across Southern and East Africa, then out over the Indian Ocean, from one island to the next. Our teams grew with us, with specialists for Africa, Ocean Islands, Golf and DMC. Lodges, camps, hotels and even a luxury train joined the journey, together with the suppliers and trade partners who make every trip feel effortless.
