The Elephant Camp

The Elephant Camp has a superb location within a private wildlife concession in Victoria Falls National Park. As the name suggests, this luxury tented camp is well known for its elephants: both the herds that gather at the waterhole and the elephants at the wildlife sanctuary on the property.  When you want to see Victoria Falls, simply catch one of the camp’s free transfers the short distance into town (the drive takes around 20 minutes).

Elephant Camp Main has 12 luxury tented suites, while Elephant Camp West has just 4 suites – making it ideal for smaller groups and families. Each suite is wonderfully spacious and has a 4-poster bed, comfortable lounge area, and glass sliding doors opening onto a private deck and plunge pool with views out over the African bush and Batoka Gorge gorge. There’s even a view from your bathtub, as well as the option of both an indoor or outdoor shower.

Sit down to delicious meals served on the main deck and, when the Zambezi River is in full flood, look across at the spray rising up from the “Smoke that Thunders”, Victoria Falls. Be sure to visit the Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary and Orphanage for an authentic and unobtrusive elephant encounter. But probably your most memorable encounter will be with Sylvester, the camp’s rescued cheetah that you can accompany on his daily bush walk.
