Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp
Stay at Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp and you can enjoy a classic tented safari, and uncrowded game viewing as one of the first vehicles down on the crater floor. This tented camp has a superb location, tucked under a canopy of trees that lies close to the access road down into the wildlife-packed crater – rated one of the best game viewing areas in Africa.
Game drives are conducted in closed 4×4 safari vehicles. Ngorongoro Crater is home to a wide variety of wildlife including zebra, wildebeest, rhino and hippo. This region is also known for its predator sightings with a good chance of seeing lion, hyena, cheetah and even the elusive leopard. As well as the crater, you have the option of a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, and visiting a nearby Maasai village.
Ngorongoro Crater Camp offers an authentic under canvas safari experience: tents are comfortable but basic, each en-suite with a hot bucket shower and a small sitting area out front. Food is excellent, and you’ll often be treated to a picnic breakfast or lunch while out on game drives. As for your evenings, they’re spent the safari way swapping stories around a crackling campfire.
