Mombo Camp

Mombo Camp sits on Chief’s Island in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, an area known for some of the most rewarding game viewing in Africa! Rebuilt in 2018, the camp has 9 incredibly spacious tents, sheltered under shady trees and looking out over floodplains where herds of antelope graze and the occasional elephant wanders by.

Each tented suite is raised off the ground with connecting walkways to take you to main lodge. Inside your tent you’ll find a bedroom, separate sitting area, and bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers – and a beautiful copper bathtub. The private deck and plunge pool are a great place to relax between drives, and there’s even an Olympus camera and binoculars for use during your stay.

Set out on expertly guided game drives in search of prides of lion, leopard, elephant and the rare black rhino (successfully reintroduced into Moremi Game Reserve). Chief’s Island lives up to its reputation as “the Place of Plenty”, so keep your camera at the ready! If you’re interested, ask your guide to share the story of Wilderness Safaris pioneering role in returning rhino to the wilds of Botswana.

The rest of your stay at Mombo is sure to live up to everything you’d expect from Wilderness Safaris flagship camp. Phenomenal safari guides, a freshly-made brunch served out in the bush after your morning game drive, a massage on your private deck and a sommelier on hand to help you pick the perfect bottle of wine.

Mombo Camp is featured in our pick of the 1o Most Luxurious Safari Lodges in Africa.
