Eagles Crag at Shamwari Private Game Reserve
Eagles Crag Lodge combines the natural elements of stone, glass and thatch to create a luxurious safari experience amid the wilderness of the Shamwari Private Game Reserve. Set in an unspoilt valley, the lodge offers superb views over its bushveld environment. This elegant bush lodge offers nine exceptional suites that are completely private.
An expert game ranger accompanies guests on early morning and evening game drives, sharing information about the latest research and conservation programs at Shamwari. Upstairs the lodge has a dining room with intimate dining pods and a bar and lounge with fireplace opening up onto a beautiful deck overlooking the cliffs. Downstairs there are a lounge with big screen tv and fireplace as well as a fitness room.
The luxury spa at Eagles Crag Lodge offers a wide variety of personalized treatments, it also has a sauna, steam room and hydro bath.
Each spacious suite has indoor and outdoor showers, a wooden deck and a private heated plunge pool. Interiors are decorated in clean, fresh and contemporary hues, featuring wall-to-wall glass doors on two sides with spectacular views of the bush and cliffs.
The reserve is host to the Born Free Foundation Centre, providing a sanctuary for big cats that came from impoverished, captive environments around the world. Shamwari also has a complete wildlife research team as well as its own anti-poaching unit.
