Chobe Game Lodge
Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent safari lodge within Chobe National Park. This luxurious lodge sits right on the bank of the Chobe River, a permanent source of water that supports Africa’s largest concentration of elephant. During dry season herds of up to a hundred elephant can be seen gathered at the water’s edge!
A larger property, Chobe Game Lodge has 47 rooms and 4 suites. The rooms have touches of Zanzibar flair and each opens onto its own terrace with partial river views. For added luxury, pick one of the suites which each have a private plunge pool. A fantastic feature of this lodge is the riverside boardwalk and deck, with plenty of comfortable spots to settle in and enjoy some armchair game viewing.
The lodge’s prime position allows game drives to start before the park gates open and other visitors arrive. Chobe Game Lodge offers 3 safari activities daily so you can experience both game drives (the best way to seek out predators) and river cruises. The sunset cruises are particularly popular, floating along drink in hand while watching for wildlife on the riverbank.
Chobe Game Lodge was among the first 10 properties to be awarded the highest Ecotourism level in Botswana. The lodge supports a number of community initiatives, has an all-female team of professional guides, and leads the way in electric-powered safari boats and game drive vehicles.
