Azura Quilalea Private Island

Azura Quilalea Private Island has 9 seafront villas on a private, uninhabited island in Mozambique’s Quirimbas Archipelago. Your adventure begins in Pemba as you board a helicopter to fly low over the dazzling blue of the Indian Ocean to this remote tropical island escape.

Quilalea Island is lush and green with deserted beaches and vibrant coral reefs. Stroll off of the main beach into the warm ocean, and you’ll find yourself swimming amongst the tropical fish and unbleached corals of the house reef. Or wander across the island past thousand-year-old baobab trees to Turtle Beach, a remote stretch of sand where turtles often nest.

During your stay at Aura Quilalea Private Island you’ll be well looked after by your personal butler. Azura hosts go out of their way to make each guest’s stay special with lovely little touches like sunset cocktails served at your beachside sala or a candlelit dinner under the stars.

As for the food, the focus in on light meals and an abundance of fresh locally caught seafood including crayfish, calamari, prawns and huge succulent crabs.
