andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp

Ngala Tented Camp sits on the bank of the Timbavati River, in a wildlife-rich private reserve bordering the Kruger Park. This is true big game territory and staying here you have a good chance of seeing all of Africa’s Big 5: lion, leopard, white rhino, buffalo and elephant families with their young. Packs of wild dog often pass through the area, and the trees around the lodge shelter monkeys and birds.

The camp itself has just 9 tents. Every detail has been beautifully taken care of with polished wooden decks, textured fabrics and clean lines. Each tent is air-conditioned, has a comfortable king-size bed, lovely indoor bathtub and outdoor shower. In the morning you’re woken up by a gentle knock as your butler brings you your favourite hot drink, and each evening a three-course dinner is served in a different location.

Activities focus around twice-daily game drives led by your expert guide-and-tracker team. Ngala has exclusive traversing rights over 14,700 hectares of prime wilderness, so you won’t see many other vehicles – even at a big cat sighting! There’s also the option of a short guided bush walk after breakfast, or you might prefer to pick a sun lounger alongside Ngala’s rim-flow swimming pool.
