Tell us a bit about yourself

Lisa’s journey started in the South African wine industry, working with top estates like Nederburg and Klein Constantia. She specialised in wine tours before moving into the travel industry. She joined GILTEDGE in 2016, bringing her love of fine wine, slow travel, and immersive experiences into every itinerary.

What has been your favorite safari experience?

Spotting African wild dogs in Botswana’s Khwai Private Concession was incredible! It’s a top spot for predator sightings, and I always recommend it to clients who love the thrill of the wild.

What is one place in Africa that's forever in your heart?

I have to pick two! Karatu, Tanzania – a charming town near the Ngorongoro Crater with rolling hills, lush forests, and coffee plantations. And the Seychelles – incredible hospitality, amazing flavours, and beaches that feel like paradise.

Top tip for clients / go to travel hack?

Slow down, and take it all in – that’s where the best memories are made. Oh, and if you’re heading to a beach destination, pack an extra swimsuit – one is never enough!
