Tell us a bit about yourself

Kelly-Ann’s childhood dream of travelling the world inspired her ambition to become a flight attendant, which naturally led her to the travel and tourism industry. She spent her practical year at Club Travel, where her fascination with creating unique travel experiences grew, ultimately guiding her toward a career as a travel consultant.

After completing her internship and graduating in 2013, Kelly-Ann began her career at Comair Ltd, working as a customer service agent for Kulula.com and British Airways for six months. In 2014, she moved to Perfect Africa as a flight reservationist, where her passion for tourism blossomed. Four years later, Kelly-Ann joined GILTEDGE as an Administrative Consultant. Since then, she has gained extensive knowledge about Africa’s rich offerings and continues to explore and discover more about the beautiful continent, eager to learn and experience all it has to offer.

What has been your favorite safari experience?

Just as my amazing safari in Northern Kruger was coming to an end, things took an unexpected turn. My game ranger got a call on the radio – another ranger had spotted a leopard on the hunt! We quickly jumped into the 4×4 and rushed over, hoping to catch a glimpse of the action. And sure enough, there he was, locked in on an impala. It was my first time ever seeing a leopard in hunting mode, and honestly, it was incredible. What blew me away the most was how well he blended into the yellow bushes – I could barely spot him! It was nature’s magic at its finest.

What is one place in Africa that's forever in your heart?

Cape Town! I know, I know – it might sound a bit clichéd, but there’s a reason they call it the Mother City. You could travel the globe and still struggle to find anywhere as magical as the Cape’s coastline. The beaches here are something else – think mountains crashing into the sea and sunsets that look like they’ve been filtered by nature herself. Whether you’re into sunbathing, surfing, or just beach-hopping with an ice cream in hand, there’s a spot for everyone.

Top tip for clients / go to travel hack?

Be present in the moment rather than focusing on documenting every travel experience. You’ll find that the most memorable moments come when you’re fully immersed in the experience.
