Tell us a bit about yourself

As an 8th-generation South African, Hector’s connection to Africa runs deep. He’s been in the tourism industry since 1994, managing special interest and corporate incentive groups, planning safaris, and even running five-star safari lodges in Botswana. His passion lies in designing bespoke African travel experiences, blending conservation, community support, and a deep love for Africa’s landscapes and her people.

What has been your favorite safari experience?

Solo camping on Kukonje Island in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. At dusk, I watched a flock of ostriches move across the horizon and could see their silhouettes dancing against the beautiful landscape – it was mesmerising.

What is one place in Africa that's forever in your heart?

The Okavango Delta. No matter how many times I visit, it still leaves me in awe. There’s something special about the way the landscape constantly shifts, where dry land becomes water and wildlife moves in harmony with the seasons.
