Zarafa Camp
Set within Botswana’s private Selinda Reserve, Zarafa Camp maintains the perfect balance of luxury, romance and adventure. The camp was created by renowned National Geographic photographers Dereck & Beverly Joubert, who wanted to protect this incredible wilderness whilst also sharing it with others. Designed with the environment in mind, Zarafa has four guest tents offering exceptional views over the clear waters of Zibadianja Lagoon.
The flowing canvas tents each stand on a raised wooden deck. The bedroom connects to a full lounge with a leather sofa and armchairs, and an open layout bathroom complete with a deep copper bathtub. On the expansive veranda is a private plunge pool and outdoor shower with incredible views. Hippos are often visible in the lagoon and elephant regularly wander through camp! This is a phenomenal safari area, and staying at Zarafa puts you in the heart of this wilderness wonderland.
Selinda Reserve is a refuge for leopard, lion, cheetah, elephant and rarer species such as African wild dog, roan and sable antelope. The birdlife is amazing, and for keen birders the nearby African skimmer colony is a must! Set out on game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles which have been custom adapted to suit photographers. Each tent also comes with a Canon professional camera and zoom lenses for (free) use during your stay! Other activities include guided walks, birding, fly-fishing (seasonal) and Zarafa’s special pontoon boat – a unique safari experience.
