Desert Rhino Camp delivers a remote and rewarding safari experience in a private conservancy in Damaraland. This region of Namibia is known for tranquil, minimalist beauty; the vast plains dotted with ancient welwitschia plants and impressive rocky outcrops. But the real highlight of any stay at this small tented camp is the opportunity to track the endangered black rhino.

Desert Rhino Camp is run in conjunction with Save the Rhino Trust (SRT), and the conservancy is home to the largest free-roaming black rhino population in Africa. The SRT trackers will help you get up close to these magnificent creatures, while guided game drives offer sightings of desert-adapted elephant, mountain zebra, giraffe, gemsbok, springbok and – if you’re lucky – lion.

After a day of game drives and the exhilaration of rhino tracking, take a dip in the camp plunge pool or relax on your private deck. The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. And, in the evening, sit down to a delicious meal served in the open-sided dining tent or around the fire under stars so bright it feels you could reach up and touch them.
