Molori Safari Lodge
Originally built as the owners’ private family retreat, the 5-suite Molori Safari Lodge delivers a personalised safari experience in South Africa’s Madikwe Game Reserve. The word “Molori” means “to dream”, an apt name for one of South Africa’s most luxurious lodges. Opulent, yes! Yet Molori still maintains a relaxed, at-home feel with great thought and care in even the tiniest of details.
As for the game viewing, not only is Madikwe home to all of Africa’s Big 5 but this vast reserve is known for cheetah and wild dog sightings too. Set out on game drives, led by Molori’s team of award-winning guides. Other safari activities include wild dog tracking, guided bush walks, rhino tagging (subject to availability with the Madikwe Conservation committee) and night drives to seek out nocturnal creatures such as leopard and honey badgers.
The 5 villa-sized suites all have custom furniture, Persian carpets, Bose iPod docking stations and beautiful chandeliers. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors fold away, opening your suite up to your private deck and infinity pool. The main lodge has a large living room and four dining areas, so every meal is served in a different location – and it feels rather like having the whole place to yourself.
Food is outstanding and, if you like, you can request a one-to-one cooking class with the chef. Also worth mentioning is Molori’s amazing spa, the luxurious underground hide (fantastic for keen photographers!) and the star gazing platform complete with top-of-the-range telescope.
