Idube Private Game Reserve

The game lodge at Idube Private Game Reserve is located in the Sabi Sands. Eleven comfortable chalets lie sheltered amongst Knobhorn and Jackalberry trees; the extensive lodge lawns grazed by warthog and nyala (a type of antelope).

Days at Idube revolve around early morning and late afternoon game drives, expertly led by your guide-and-tracker team. Many of Idube’s guides have been at the lodge for years, and have a detailed understanding and great passion for the region and its wildlife. This leads to fantastic sightings, so expect to see most of – if not all – Africa’s Big 5 and plenty of other animals too.

After your dawn start, it’s lovely spending a few hours relaxing in these peaceful surroundings. Pick from the cushioned sun loungers alongside the swimming pool, or settle in on your private deck listening to the chorus of birdsongs and watching the amusing antics of the monkeys up in the tree branches. You can also visit the hide which overlooks a small waterhole.

In the evenings join the other guests to swap game viewing stories over pre-dinner drinks at the thatched bar. Once the chef has talked you through the night’s array of tasty dishes, it’s down to the lantern-lit boma for dinner under the stars.
