Coot Club

Coot Club is tucked into the milkwood forest that fringes the southern banks of the Klein River, overlooking the tranquil lagoon waters, and within reach of Walker Bay – where southern right whales nurse their calves from July to November. Coot Club offers experiences as diverse as the species it nurtures. The boathouses and stone cottages soak up the dazzling Klein River lagoon and mountainous surroundings. All accommodation have access to a two shared swimming pools, and the Kleinrivier Lagoon. Coot Club offers complete flexibility with the clubhouse, located in the historic Spookhuis, and al fresco dining under the spreading branches of the 400-year-old milkwoods. An hour before sunset, guests are welcome to the lawn or jetty for sundowners. Here, the dinner menu is shared; informal, home-style dishes and sharing plates for two. Activities include fat-biking, bird walks, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, and self guided nature walks. Additionally, there are various lawn games available to use (boules, volleyball, tug-of-war, slip and slide); table tennis and board games are available at the Clubhouse. A 3-hour beach excursion into the Walker Bay Reserve can be booked on property at additional cost.
