Meno a Kwena

Meno a Kwena is a classic and unpretentious safari destination that offers great game viewing and wilderness activities from a clifftop-based setting overlooking the Boteti River and the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The 10 tents are set on a 100-foot clifftop overlooking the river with some fabulous game viewing possible from the private verandas themselves.

Designed for comfort, the tents have colonial-style furniture, local splashes of colour and en-suite bathrooms. Families are catered for with inter-leading tents. The main area hosts the lounge and dining tents filled with books and trinkets, as well as plenty of chairs to relax in and soak up the views. The swimming pool provides some welcome respite from the African sun. There is plenty to do here.

Morning and afternoon game drives into the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans national parks are an option, and so are Khoisan-guided walking excursions, boat cruises (in the green season), a trip to the floating hide, cultural visits to a local village and sleepouts on the pan itself (in the dry season). This is also a great base from which to view the zebra migration – Africa’s second-largest migration that takes place over 1 000 kilometres each year.
