Hoanib Valley Camp

Set in the remote and wild Kaokoland, the exclusive Hoanib Valley Camp is surrounded by towering mountains, desert landscapes and sand dunes. This intimate camp echoes the stunning simplicity of its surrounds with its elegant design and décor that draws from local culture and natural colours. The six rooms blend seamlessly into the environment; each offering a private veranda so that guests don’t even have to leave the privacy of their rooms to enjoy the spectacular surrounds.

Safari adventures beckon and game drives in search of endangered rhino and desert-adapted elephant and giraffe are not be missed. This destination is a joint venture between local communities and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and is the world’s only Africa-wide giraffe conservation organisation. Besides giraffe, this is one of the best locations to see desert-adapted elephant as well as lion, rhino, mountain zebra, oryx and a host of other mammals. Guided nature walks offer the opportunity to discover the smaller, but no less fascinating, flora and fauna of the region and it is possible to meet the local Herero people and discover more about their fascinating way of life in this harsh environment.
