Living in South Africa, a light dusting of snow is likely to make the evening news. People pile into their vehicles and follow the trail of cars out into the surrounding mountains, just to scrape together a few icy snowballs.

Imagine then, a few days at a ski resort surrounded by thick blankets of snow. It’s such a unique and unforgettable experience: the magnificent scenery, crisp cold air and days spent out on the slopes. It’s an experience that really captures people’s imagination, and is a travel incentive that your team or partners will be talking about for many years to come.

Hitting the Slopes for the First Time

 Last year, Hector was invited to spend the few days before Christmas at a ski resort in Austria. The resort that he stayed at is called Robinson Club Schlanitzen Alm, which lies right up in the snow-covered mountains just two kilometres from the Italian border.

This was Hector’s first time on the slopes. “There were some spectacular cartwheels, backflips and forward ploughs” Hector admitted “but it was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal! We spent anything from three to six hours a day on the slopes, and then there was the après ski: great bars, fun music and a fantastic atmosphere!”

Why Skiing is Such a Great Incentive

If, like Hector, this is your first time on the slopes then learning to ski gives you a real sense of accomplishment. For others, this may be a chance to improve their technique and do something that they love – but seldom have the opportunity to enjoy.

Skiing is a great team experience. Your group can have fun on the slopes together, and get to know a completely different side of the people that they work with. For business partners, the apres ski is a fantastic opportunity for social networking.
