At GILTEDGE, we’re 100 per cent dedicated to eco-conscious travel, sustainable tourism and protecting the environment on our safaris. This year, we’ve decided to close the loop and apply the same passion and dedication to the environment back at the office.

What does this mean? GILTEDGE is going paperless! Thanks to our new digital offering, we’re able to embrace a completely paperless approach to the way we work.

Who needs pages of printed itineraries or cumbersome travel wallets when exploring our African landscapes and wildlife? Instead, we send our guests everything they need to know about their trip in a digital format – directly on their phone or device. Easy. Seamless. Friendly to the environment.

Thanks to nifty travel itinerary apps, travellers can now access personal documents and travel updates in real-time – whether they are admiring the Okavango Delta from a mokoro, enjoying sundowners along the Chobe River, or tracking rhinos on foot in the Kruger National Park.

How did it all start?

We’ve been considering the paperless move for quite some time. Our team is constantly on the lookout for the best ways to conserve and protect the environment and operate in the most responsible way possible.

Reducing the use of paper seemed an obvious step. Not only does it allow us to combat deforestation, but it also reduces the use of plastic and other wasteful materials. For example, there’s no more need for printer toner cartridges. And a reduced need for electricity since we don’t need to power as many scanners and photocopiers.

Of course, while our mission is to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible, we are happy to continue to provide printed documents for those who may require them (although we’ll always ask the question).
