Bali: the Value of All-Inclusive Resorts

Last month our incentive team led two trips to Bali. The groups stayed at a resort set right on the beach, with a beautiful pool area and a fantastic spa.

Their accommodation was also all-inclusive, which adds huge value to an incentive trip, especially with the rand at its current rate. The Bali Experience

Bali is an excellent choice for experiential travel. This tropical island offers world-class surfing, fantastic scuba diving or snorkelling daytrips to nearby islands and atolls. White-water rafting is also popular, the water courses often winding through thick, indigenous forests.

A popular way to get around is by scooter or open-top car. You can also go on cycling trips, peddling past green rice paddy fields and coconut plantations. Visit soaring volcanoes or go into the small markets where you’ll discover excellent shopping for batik fabrics, baskets and authentic handicrafts.

People & Culture

Indonesia has 70,000 islands, of which Bali is the only one that is Hindu. The Balinese people are gentle and friendly, and have managed to retain much of their cultural heritage. Travelling around the island you’ll often come across offerings of flowers and food at the side of the road.

Hundreds of Hindu temples and places of worship are scattered across this beautiful island, and there are numerous vibrant festivals throughout the year. You can also visit sacred lakes, pick from a good number of volcano hikes or visit remote villages.

The Luxurious Touch

Bali has a wide selection of resorts, from entry-level 3 star to 5-star deluxe. The service levels are exceptional, and really set the standards in South East Asia. As for the food, it’s outstanding and caters for all tastes including Halaal and vegetarian. Guides are professional and well trained, and English is widely spoken (Bali’s official language is Bahasa Indonesia).

Many of the resorts have excellent spa facilities. Bali is a top choice for yoga and wellness holidays, and leads the way in terms of massages.

Final Logistics

Bali is a fantastic option for all-inclusive incentive travel. This beautiful tropical island is a value-for-money destination and, if you’re South African, the visa is free. Getting there is easy too, on Singapore Airlines, Emirates or Cathay Pacific.

As for when to travel, Bali is hot all year round. The dry season runs from May to October, however, should you choose to travel in the wet season you’ll find that it only rains for a couple of hours before the sun comes out again.
