Sapi Explorers Camp
Set alongside the Zambezi River in the Mana Pools area of northern Zimbabwe Sapi Concession, Sapi Explorers Camp is a refuge for the big mammals of the Zambezi landscape like elephants, hippos, lions, rhino and buffalo. This amazing wildlife sanctuary, along with the neighbouring Mana Pools National Park, comprises over 337,000 hectares of prime protected wilderness. Collectively they form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the core of the Middle-Zambezi Biosphere Reserve. Sapi Explorers Camp is located along the Zambezi River and offers the perfect base to explore the Sapi Reserve, Mana Pools and the Zambezi River.
With only 5 explorer-style canvas tents a handful of dedicated staff, including an expert guide. Each tent includes beds, en suite showers and a shaded veranda perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee while watching the wildlife in the river and surrounding bush. Early morning and late afternoon game drives will take you through diverse wildlife and terrain, including the Mtawatawa Pan. Guided bush walks allow for a more intimate and detailed look at the local flora and fauna with the help of an expert tracker. Canoe and boating excursions explore the famous Zambezi River and its wild inhabitants. For guests who stay for nights or longer, there is a game drive to Mana Pools Reserve.
Delicious meals are enjoyed either indoors within the open mess tent or on the beach overlooking the Zambezi, adding a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The mess tent also includes a comfy lounge fitted with couches and chairs for relaxing and swapping stories with other guests. At night, everyone gathers around the campfire on the beach to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset over the river. The camp is recommended for children over the age of twelve.
