Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp

Gorilla Trekking is without doubt one of Africa’s most incredible wildlife experiences. And the best place to see these magnificent creatures in the wild is the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s home to no less than half the world’s population of critically endangered mountain gorillas (around 340 at the last census).

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is a welcoming lodge in the Bwindi Forest. It’s the only camp located within the boundaries of the reserve, and its views extend out over the forest canopy. Staying here you have the convenience of gorilla trekking right on your doorstep, in fact, a family of gorillas regularly passes through the camp – calmly walking across the neat lawns.

The main thatched lodge has a comfortable lounge and bar area, opening onto beautiful grounds sloping down towards the thick rainforest. After a morning of gorilla trekking, treat yourself to a massage on the private deck of your comfortable tent. Then look forward to dinner under a sky bright with stars and drinks around the campfire as you swap stories of your day’s adventures.
