Little Chem Chem

Little Chem Chem – also called the “sunrise camp” –  offers the perfect East Africa experience in an intimate setting. Tanzania is a land of beauty, and Little Chem Chem is set on 16 000 acres of wilderness between Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park. The camp has five vintage tents made of canvas and one family tent; there’s a simple luxury present here, and the style of the accommodation is understated.

Highlights included breakfast at a beautifully laid table at the foot of a 3,000-year-old baobab tree, cycle through the bush, visit the Maasai village and sundowners overlooking Lake Manyara (which in rainy season is covered with flamingoes). At night, you can watch the sun go down with a glass of wine by the fireplace.

At Little Chem Chem the focus is on game drives. You can watch cheetah sprint across the plains, track elephant herds or see a tree-climbing lion. Guided bush walks are led by a Maasai warrior who shared his vast knowledge of the birds and plants.
