Kapama River Lodge
Spanning 13 000 hectares, Kapama Private Game Reserve offers the perfect sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife. Here, over 40 different species of mammals including the Big 5 and 350 bird species thrive in their natural habitat. The five-star Kapama River Lodge is the largest luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger National Park. Its open spaces and airy design are a constant reminder that you’re sleeping under the African sky.
The lodge has 64 bedrooms each spacious with a full en-suite bathroom and uninterrupted views of the reserve. The central guest entertainment areas include a swimming pool, lounge, bar, library, curio shop, multi-functional function venue and boma.
All cuisine at Kapama River Lodge is prepared using fresh seasonal ingredients and herbs grown in the garden. Traditional South African dishes such as mealie pap (African-style polenta) and chakalaka (a hot, spicy relish) enhance the luxury game lodge experience by giving a taste of real Africa. Menus include kudu casserole, warthog stew and oxtail curry. Vegetarians, vegans and various other dietary requirements are easily catered for.
Kapama River Lodge offers morning and afternoon game drives or bush walks with a highly-skilled game rangers and trackers. In addition to their safari experiences, guests are welcome to participate in numerous other activities such as hot air ballooning, visit to the Kapama anti poaching unit and the Hoedspruit Centre for Endangered Species.
