andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp
andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp lies in a remote region of the Tanzania’s famous Serengeti National Park. The camp has 10 spacious tents (including a family tent) set up on the banks of an oxbow lake formed by the Grumeti River. Black and white colobus monkeys play in the surrounding trees, and the water below is dotted with hippos.
Luxurious yet rustic, andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti gives the incredible feeling of being out in the wild on an African safari. Each tent has a thatched palm-frond roof, wonderful outdoor shower and private shaded deck overlooking the river. In the main camp you’ll find a rim-flow pool, generous decks for meals and sundowners, and a boma for dinners under the stars.
Game viewing is excellent all year round, with this region known lion, cheetah and hyena sightings. From around May to July the thousands-strong wildebeest herds of the great migration pass through the area, and staying here puts you close to popular crossing points of the Grumeti River with its enormous Nile crocodiles. The drama of watching predator and prey battle it out is unforgettable!
